This position is a member of our Austin Regional Office.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Maintain program files and records; prepare, and/or types of routine and/or special correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents for the Air, Water, Waste, and the Edwards Aquifer Programs.
Answer division phones and direct telephone requests to the appropriate areas in the division; maintain effective communication with internal and external customers, providing responses to routine program information.
Serve as a contact for coordinating requirements relating to program records maintained in the Central File Rooms. Work with the Record Administrator to ensure agency records management policies and procedures are followed in the division to include records retention, storage, access, and destruction. Serve as Public Information Request (PIR) contact for the Region.
Maintain databases to track information; conduct queries and prepare reports; enter data tracking information to include inspections and notifications for all media.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience organizing and/or maintaining databases, records and/or filing systems.
Experience inputting administrative or technical data into computer databases and systems.
Experience interacting with the public, media and/or regulated community.
Experience working on public information requests.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus five years of full-time experience providing administrative support in an office setting.
Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience with a maximum substitution of four years.
OR
Two years as an Administrative Assistant IV at TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Administrative Assistant V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Administrative Assistant V series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Austin Regional Office.
