Job Description


The Licensed Therapist will provide outpatient clinical services from 8 am to 5 pm in our Birmingham office. Additional benefits, including funds for CEU and licensure renewal each year, are also available, as well as opportunities for training in evidence-based treatment modalities. Primary responsibilities include providing individual, group, or family therapy using empirically supported treatments, assessment, development and review of treatment plans, coordination with community agencies, and administrative oversight of clinical records. Assistance with scheduling and checking insurance is provided by office staff. Outpatient Services is a supportive, close-knit, collaborative team with a focus on positive outcomes for families and maintaining a positive work environment for our staff members.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Establish relationships with clients
  • Promote and support clients’ mental health
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records for each session with client
  • Create treatment plans for each individual in their care
  • Conduct assessments of each client’s progress
  • Work with clients’ families to help them offer the most appropriate support.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the latest therapeutic techniques
  • Make referrals to other agencies or health professionals.

  • Communication& Collaboration: Engaging effectively with clients, families, and interprofessional teams.
  • Practice Management: Managing risk, documentation, and resource allocation per standards, admin codes, and Policies and procedures.
  • Professional Development: Engaging in reflective practice and continuing education to maintain competence. 
  • Master’s degree in counseling or social work.
  • Current independent licensure (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LiCSW) in the state of Alabama
  • Maintains professional licenses and certifications

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must clear all background checks and pre-hire testing.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2+ year(s) of experience in mental health, education, behavioral health, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and other Developmental Disabilities
