The Technician will assist with manufacturing systems, control panels and after successfully proving their capabilities and learning how system operates provide field service. In the role of field service technician, they will act as a representative of the company providing hands-on service to current and new customers in the local area and worldwide. The Technician will safely build, install, troubleshoot and service water treatment equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understands and adheres to safety guidelines focusing on and consistently practicing safety as a top priority for all projects completed
- Installation and repair of water treatment equipment including high purity and industrial water treatment equipment
- PVC Piping installation
- PP piping
- Stainless steel assembly
- Monitoring inventory
- Financially responsible for spare part stock and work tools
- Provide onsite service and prepare reports
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- H.S. diploma, Trade school certification or equivalent experience
- 0-3 years of experience within water treatment industry or equivalent experience
- Stainless steel piping and skid welding certification a plus
Characteristics and Skills:
- Must be able to learn and understand fluid concepts and instrumentation
- Must be able to learn and investigate problems with instruments and electrical equipment including flow meters, variable speed drives, temperature sensors, level transmitters, communication devices and interfaces
- Must be able to learn to inspect and test the operation of electrical and instrumentation equipment including PLCs. Wiring of control panels, a plus
- Be able to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant instrumentation, electrical equipment and associated piping and conduit systems
- Must be able to read and interpret piping, general arrangement, electrical drawings, loop sheets, schematics, and P&ID's
- Must be able to install, repair, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring tools
- Good communication skills and highly responsible
- Ability to learn quickly
- Mechanical and analytical aptitude
Essential Physical Abilities:
- Ability to work standing all day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to accommodate varying work schedules
- Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders
- Ability to utilize full manual dexterity (i.e. sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting, walking, manipulating tools with limbs extended)
