About the Treatment Options Program
ReDiscover’s Treatment Options Program (TOP) provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals with opioid use disorder, offering methadone and buprenorphine alongside counseling, group therapy, case management, and integrated mental health and nursing services. Community Support Specialists play a key role in supporting clients through their recovery journey by connecting them to resources, reinforcing treatment goals, and helping them build stability in their daily lives.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and actively engage a caseload of clients receiving treatment for substance use disorders through in-person and phone interactions.
- Support clients in progressing through recovery by reinforcing treatment goals, relapse prevention strategies, and overall stability.
- Build trust with hard-to-engage clients and promote consistent participation in treatment services, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
- Help reduce barriers to recovery by connecting clients to housing, employment, education, and other community supports.
- Coordinate care and provide transportation to treatment appointments, including MAT services, using your personal vehicle as outlined in client treatment plans.
- Document client progress, services, and interactions in the Carelogic electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical and clinical staff, to support continuity of care and positive treatment outcomes.
Requirements of the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or four (4) years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a reliable, registered vehicle available for work use, including transporting clients.
- Two (2)+ years of experience in a substance use, behavioral health, or related setting preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources and health/social service systems in the Kansas City metro area preferred.
- Strong ability to build relationships and engage clients in a recovery-oriented environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills.
