Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
To perform all process engineering functions required to plan and execute surface facility projects under the supervision of engineering team lead/ Chief engineer. Co-ordinate with other engineering disciplines for development of project scope, cost estimates and timelines.
Plan and Develop processing schemes of proposed surface facilities during Project Definition and Conceptual stages by maintaining close liaison with stakeholders from Reservoir, Sub-surface operations and Production departments. Accordingly prepare or review & comment project proposals for various projects during Project Definition and Conceptual stages so that approvals from Management and JV Partners can be attained.
Develop / Review Basic and Detailed Engineering documents comprising PFDs/P&IDs, process calculations / simulations, equipment sizing / specifications, Flare / hydraulic evaluation, PSVs governing scenarios evaluation, Heat exchanger thermal design, operation / control / safety philosophies, Cause n Effect Matrix.
Provide Process engineering inputs in Project HSE studies like HAZID, HAZOP studies, QRA, FERA etc. etc. to ensure they are as per project objectives and HSE.
Review/comment process engineering sections of Invitations to Bid (ITBs) for engineering and design contractors/consultants to ensure that the project scope of work is well defined to achieve project objectives. Evaluate or review evaluations of bid proposals received from bidders to ensure that they comply with the project objectives and provide support on technical aspects during contract negotiation stage.
Liaise with other disciplines within the department at office and site to resolve process engineering problems encountered in projects. Liaise with other departments in the Company (Production, Subsurface, HSE, Procurement, etc.) to ensure that project objectives are met.
Review and comment on process engineering aspects of surface facilities of non-operated blocks.
Assist Head P&FE and/or Manager Engineering in his routine jobs and assignments, broadly covering preparation of work plans, presentation in workshops and TCM/OCM, etc. in achieving the objectives. Communicate with Joint Venture Partners, when required, on process engineering aspects of proposed and/or ongoing projects.
Qualification:
Graduate in Chemical Engineering.
Professional competencies:
Knowledge of applicable Engineering Codes & Standards/Best Practices, Project Management, and QA/QC aspects of Oil & Gas surface facilities projects. Knowledge and experience of Oil & Gas production facilities processes, Process Hazard Analysis (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP studies, etc.). Proficiency in process simulation/design software (e.g. HYSYS, etc.)
Experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant industry’s experience.
