Job Description
Summary
Responsible for performing general accounting tasks and providing support to the finance team, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards; entry-level role is designed for individuals beginning their accounting career and provides exposure to various accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance.
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial transactions and account balances.
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
- Support ad-hoc accounting projects and special assignments as directed.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred and 0–2 years of accounting experience, internship experience acceptable; basic understanding of accounting principles, standards (GAAP), and practices.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or ERP systems), Dynamics 365, preferred.
Physical Demands
Primarily office-based; able to sit at computer for extended periods; ability to use standard office equipment (computers, printers, scanners); sit, stand, walk, talk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
