** 2 days per week in office.

The Opportunity:

You will lead a team of software and database architects serving five product groups across a US healthcare software company. This is a change leadership role: the team is technically capable and the mandate is to evolve how that capability is applied — shifting from a requirements-driven software architecture model toward a model that pairs that work with proactive, business-driven enterprise architecture. The right candidate brings both architecture credibility and a track record of leading technical teams through meaningful operating model change .

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of software and database architects — hiring, development, performance, and career growth.

  • Drive the team's evolution from reactive, requirements-driven software architecture toward proactive, enterprise-scoped architecture work that begins from business problems, not handed-down requirements.

  • Operate a phased engagement model: time-bounded stakeholder discovery, phases that close on decisions rather than deliverables, and regular checkpoint communication with stakeholders.

  • Partner actively with Product Management — initiating SME conversations and shaping requirements rather than waiting for them to arrive.

  • Model and coach AI-augmented delivery practices across the team: concurrent work streams, incremental delivery, and AI-assisted exploration and drafting as normal parts of how architects work.

  • Serve as the primary management touchpoint for the team.

  • Coach the team toward constraint-aware design — reinforcing through recognition and example that designing well within business and timeline constraints is elevated craft.

  • Serve as the team's local leadership presence in Peru, maintaining alignment with country-specific labor, data, and operational regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced English level.

  • 10+ years of experience in software or systems engineering with meaningful exposure to architecture.

  • 3+ years in a management or technical leadership role.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a technical team through a change in operating model or working culture — not just inheriting a stable team.

  • Personal, working-level experience with AI-augmented development practices; able to model it, not just advocate for it.

  • Business English proficiency sufficient for executive stakeholder communication.

  • Experience leading engineering teams in Peru strongly preferred.

  • Exposure to enterprise architecture practice (TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or equivalent) and modern application architecture patterns preferred.

  • Healthcare or regulated-industry background is helpful but not mandatory.

What we offer you:

  • Economic bonus and merit review.

  • Full Health Insurance (EPS and oncologic) for you and your direct dependents.

  • Fully paid English lessons.

  • All legal benefits (CTS, 30-day paid vacation per year, life insurance, etc.).
