Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Windows & Linux Administrator with 5 to 8 Years of Application Support experience to manage, support, and secure IT infrastructure and business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system administration, application availability, proactive monitoring, and timely security vulnerability patching to ensure system stability and compliance.Job Description
Windows & Linux Administration
- Administer, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual).
- Perform system installation, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, file systems, and system permissions.
- Monitor server performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
Application Support
- Provide L2/L3 application support for business-critical applications.
- Troubleshoot application issues, analyze root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams for issue resolution.
- Handle application deployments, configuration changes, and production support activities.
Security Vulnerabilities & Patching
- Conduct regular OS and application patching for Windows and Linux environments.
- Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities as per organizational policies.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with security standards and audits.
- Maintain patching documentation and change records.
Monitoring & Incident Management
- Implement and manage monitoring tools to track system, application, and service health.
- Proactively identify potential issues and take preventive actions.
- Respond to alerts, incidents, and outages; perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and timely resolution of incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Windows Server and Linux OS administration.
- Hands-on experience in Application Support and production environments.
- Knowledge of security vulnerability management and patching.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SCOM, AppDynamics, Splunk, or similar).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls).
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work in shifts/on-call support if required.
- Strong ownership and accountability mindset.
