Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this role are 1:00pm – 9:30pm, Monday through Friday. Training will be conducted on 1st shift 7:30 AM – 4 PM for approximately 3 months.
Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.
Position Summary:
Based in Hebron Kentucky the Shipping/Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions under the direction of the Customer Service Manager to meet production and customer needs.
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk assists both receiving and shipping departments with all tasks involving unpacking, staging, transporting, and packing customer parts. This will also involve verifying the accuracy of accompanied paperwork. This position is a very active job and requires attention to detail and the ability to handle fragile parts with care.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.
· This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
· Follow all written instructions where provided, pack completed parts for shipping and unpack parts for processing
· Continuously perform visual inspection of parts for damages or issues that must be addressed before shipping to customer
· Record and sign off on all applicable process steps defined in the job folder for each shipping operation
· Locate all shipping containers and make appropriate and safe use of shipping and receiving materials and equipment.
· Observe all Environmental, Health and Safety Policy requirements:
o Using Forklift
o Using floor jacks
o Using hoist
o Keeping work area neat and orderly at all times
o Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
· Assist others as directed by Customer Service Manager

· This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders
· Education – High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 1 year experience with generating shipments and shipment documentation.
· Must be able to multi-task and remain flexible to work in other departments when needed.
· May be asked to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
· Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
· Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language
Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.
· Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
· Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
· Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
· May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
· Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
· Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
· Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
· Ability to hear in person and via phone
