ROLE SUMMARY

Required to operate safely, filling and packaging equipment according to procedures given by the Manufacturing Manager. Lead Operators A, b, and C, assigning jobs in the line to operate safely, with the quality required, and the performance needed. Training and coaching the A, B, and C operators. The shift is 3 PM – 11 PM , Monday - Friday.

  

JOB DUTIES  

  • Assures a safe and orderly work environment. Promotes and follows all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality guidelines, policies, and procedures.  

  • Report any safety and/or environmental incident immediately to the Manufacturing Manager.  

  • Performs manually and/or tends machines which perform various packaging functions such as filling, labeling, packing, or closing containers.  

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.  

  • Responsible for machine adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, maintenance, cleaning, and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.  

  • Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, and train on the cardboard baler, plastic baler, filler, packaging robot, palletizer, RFID labeler, labeler, box erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.  

  • Validates and organizes jobs in accordance with the bill of materials and special work instructions based on current and future job orders.

  • Responsible for conducting quality inspection of goods at the correct intervals, ensuring that the product is packaged according to the work order, with the expectation to identify and correcting any quality issues.

  • Operates as material handler if required. Able to operate the mixing area if required. 

  • Assists in training assigned full-time/temp operators and assists other teams as needed.  

  • Forklift experience required 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead others.  

  • Coordinates and performs routine preventative maintenance of equipment.  

  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of production, labor, and scrap incurred during the shift  Assist with MH, B, and C operator roles when needed.  

  • Other Job duties as assigned.

MACHINE A OPERATOR

ROLE SUMMARY

Operate safely, filling and packaging equipment according to procedures given by the Team Lead. The ability to lead the line and assist in training when the Team Lead is not available. The shift is 73 PM – 11 PM.

  • Report any safety and/or environmental incident immediately to the Team Lead and Manufacturing Manager.  

  • Performs manually and/or tends machines which perform various packaging functions such as filling, labeling, packing, or closing containers.  

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.  

  • Responsible for machine adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, maintenance, cleaning, and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.  

  • Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot, and train on the cardboard baler, plastic baler, carton erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.

  • Must have the ability to temporarily run manufacturing lines in the absence of a Team Lead and assist with MH, B, and C operator roles when needed.  

  • Other Job duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High School Diploma/GED required 

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment in a lead role; preferably automotive or bottling and packaging. 

  • Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English.  

  • Must have the ability to perform simple math calculations.  

  • Must be computer literate.  

  • Must be certified to drive all types of forklifts.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; walk; climb; balance on moving vehicles in standing and sitting positions, operate mechanical moving equipment; and to hear. The employee is constantly exposed to vibration while operating mechanical equipment The employee is frequently required to bend; stoop; stand; handle; finger; feel; reach forward with arms; and talk The employee is occasionally required to sit; crouch; kneel; squat; and twist The employee is rarely required to crawl The employee must occasionally lift, push/pull, and or move up to 65 pounds The employee must possess the mandatory ability to react and move quickly in case of emergency Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus/accommodate. 

 

 

RISKS  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to the possibility of injury to the hands or feet and collision with moving equipment The possibility of fire exists. On rare occasion, the employee has the possibility of exposure (once a day) to electrical shock and battery explosion. The employee may also rarely come into contact with toxic / caustic chemicals from damaged product. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery A strong citrus odor is present constantly in the work environment The noise level in the work environment is moderate Work is performed inside with moderate amounts of heat, cold and humidity encountered Inside work can be dirty, with adequate lighting and ventilation Conditions can include the presence of hazards such as flammable liquids, moving machinery and working around and with others.

Compensation Information:

Hourly Rate between $23-$30, depending on experience
