Audiologist

The Department of Otolaryngology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking an Audiologist to join the team.

Patient Assessment

• Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and tympanometry
• Interpret test results and develop treatment plans
• Recommend hearing aids and cochlear implants when appropriate

Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Care

• Work alongside ENT surgeons, otologists, and other healthcare professionals
• Stay updated on advancements in hearing technology and clinical best practice

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain detailed patient records, including evaluations, programming logs, and progress reports
• Ensure compliance with medical and audiological best practices
• Provide reports for insurance claims, medical referrals, and disability accommodations

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• Must have obtained a doctoral degree in clinical audiology
• Must have a state license to practice audiology in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in audiology or 4th year externship in audiology
• Diagnose hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders
• Ability to educate patients and families on hearing loss and hearing loss prevention
