Job Description

Summary

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the accounting function within a poultry/food processing environment. This position primarily focuses on the accurate and timely processing of producer fuel invoices and other invoice types as required. The role operates in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and requires a high degree of attention to detail, consistency, and adherence to documented processes. Advanced accounting knowledge is not required; however, the ability to follow structured procedures and maintain data accuracy is essential.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports Allen Harim’s Vision, Mission, and Values
  • Accurately process and enter producer fuel invoices in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily reconciliation between MTECH and SAP following the interfacing of fuel invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile fuel vendor statements against system records (e.g., MTECH, SAP) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with processing additional invoice types as needed by the department.
  • Review and verify invoice data against supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain organized and audit ready documentation in compliance with company recordkeeping standards.
  • Adhere strictly to company SOPs and internal controls when performing assigned tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors regarding invoice-related inquiries.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of supporting accounting documentation for audit purposes.
  • Perform general clerical and data entry duties to support the accounting team.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written procedures and detailed instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn accounting systems
  • Prior experience in clerical, data entry, or accounting support roles
  • Experience with MTECH and/or SAP (preferred but not required)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment
