Division (Weir Minerals HBF)

Port Elizabeth

Onsite/Shift

Purpose of Role: To ensure growth within the business model by ensuring production orders for key OE products are loaded and maintained to ensure products are produced to meet customer committed due dates and meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Order Book Management: Delivery dates Valid and Correct
  • Orders Loaded with short lead times are Rectify and revised delivery date are sent to Sales to amend SOA
  • Date alignment (PA del dates VS SOA del dates) Must be the Same
  • All above must be action – Daily
  • Backlog/Critical List: Keep our commitments to our customers by delivering on time
  • Ensure we hold all relevant stakeholders accountable for action to be completed
  • Make sure there is an action plan for all backlog items
  • Backlog must be zero
  • All the above must be action Daily
  • Monitor & approve all MRP action messages: Make sure Production orders are cancelled
  • Communicate to purchasing to cancel lower-level orders on supplier after above has been actioned
  • All the above must be action Daily
  • Slotting Room Management: Ensure all data is up to date
  • Job Tags are printed Daily
  • Job Tags are updated with the correct colour codes Daily
  • Start date vs Completion date must be aligned Daily
  • Board Audit to ensure that all Tags are on the board Weekly
  • All Job Packs Created for Tags that are Red – Orange
  • Slotting Room 5S Daily
  • Plan adherence: Reducing Overdue orders Compile plan for the following week
  • Production Capacity Slotting
  • Adhere to all HSE and housekeeping requirements
  • Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Logistics / Production Planning or Industrial Engineer. Project Management. At least 3 years’ experience; Or Matric/Grade 12 with more than 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience on Microsoft (MS Office 365), run and interpret Excel Pivot Table reports.
  • BAAN 4c4 / INfor LN / SAP – shop floor functions (i.e. generation of production orders, projects, outbound advice etc.)
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
