The Line Cook accurately and efficiently prepares, portions, cooks, and presents a variety of food items for residents during scheduled meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events. This role supports high‑quality dining services in a senior living environment while maintaining safety, sanitation, and consistency.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to planned menus and standardized recipes
- Complete daily prep work and follow production sheets
- Plate and present food with attention to quality and appearance
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage and labeling
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly use kitchen equipment
- Support team members and contribute to smooth daily kitchen operations
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Required Degree: High school diploma
Required Certificate: Serv Safe Certification
Experience:
- Desired is 3-4 years of related and advanced food service and cooking experience.
- Experience with basic operation of kitchen equipment is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knife experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes, directions, and production schedules
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage tasks efficiently

Compensation Pay Range:
Reasonable Pay Estimate
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $17.52 - $23.06 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.For full time employees, we offer a generous benefits package that includes:
