Job Description
Position Purpose:
As a CNC operator in our Production and Prototype department, your duties will include producing parts by programming, setting up, and operating a CNC machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintain equipment and supplies.
Essential Functions:
- Set up, run and inspect jobs on CNC machines including first piece inspection.
- Operate daily assigned 3 and 4 axis CNC machines including horizontal and vertical mills
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers, height gages, bore gages, thread gages and other machining measuring equipment
- Modify new and existing programs to run more efficiently
- Clean and perform preventative maintenance
- Answer programming questions
- Make good quality parts and give feedback as needed with little to no supervision
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or comparable experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience with operation of 3 and 4 axis CNC machines, tool set up, and inspection in a production environment
- Set up and operate Matsuura CNC mills with different generation Fanuc and Yasnac controls
- Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, record dimensions in inspection sheets and possess basic math skills
- Ability to read G and M code
- Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office;

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds / frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds / continually lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
