Purpose:
Coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintenance including set-up, installation, repair, maintaining equipment and fabrication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the Company health and safety objectives and support the company’s health and safety directives to provide a safe and healthful workplace for all employees, this includes:
- Regulatory compliance with local, state and federal legislations.
- Establishing plant-wide measurable and goals that meet or exceed industry standards, and are monitored, tracked and audited on a regular basis and communicated to employees.
- Recognition of accomplishments/milestones in the areas of safety, environmental, ergonomics and employee wellness.
- Development of effective programs that increase employee awareness and involvement in the areas of safety, environmental, ergonomics and employee wellness
- Accountability of supervisors for enforcing safety rules and implementing the necessary training and corrective actions to ensure proper focus on established objectives.
- Utilize Total Preventative Maintenance principles to develop and implement a Preventative Maintenance Program for all manufacturing equipment in the DS FEM facility.
- Oversee installation of new equipment by contractors.
- Develop and perform daily start up procedures.
- Repair any manufacturing equipment in the event of failure.
- Develop and maintain a spare parts inventory for all manufacturing equipment in the DS FEM facility.
- Perform necessary in-house projects. Keep an up-to-date log of the timing of these projects.
- Identify and correct any safety issues inside the DS FEM facility.
- Contract outside companies to perform any required projects that are not completed with internal resources.
- Exhibit a fair and consistent approach in supervising maintenance technicians, which follows the principles outlined in Magna’s Employee Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive workplace.
- Perform the requirements of this position in such a way that will maximize the return to the Decoma shareholders, while maintaining ethical business practices.
- Follow company policies and business objectives in the daily management of facility operations.

Education/Special Knowledge:
- Associates Degree in a Maintenance Technician field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controls
- Experience with six axis robotics
