The Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician is responsible for the overall fabrication, repair, and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices. This position is also responsible for shop cleanliness, safety, and production flow.Essential Job Functions:
Assesses prosthetic technical requirements, including physical assessment data, range of motion, prosthetic requirements, material selection, etc.
Formulates fabrication requirements through consultation, analysis of design needs, and development of functional goals.
Complies with practice management plans, policies, and procedures.
Utilizes a maintenance follow-up plan that ensures successful outcomes, patient health, and quality of life.
Provides education and training to enhance knowledge of prosthetic care.
Implements fabrication requirements , including application of physical data, material selection, fabrication, evaluation, and assessment.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
