Job Description
Position Objective:
The One-on-One Coordinator is responsible for managing the one-on-one assistance requirements for children and students 0-18 years old with cognitive, emotional, or physical special needs that greatly inhibit or prohibit them from participating in camp activities, as well as enabling them to participate and experience camp as best suited for them, including screening, coordinating, and communicating with families and MHA staff and departments, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.
General Qualifications:
The One-on-One Coordinator is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Act as liaison between families and MHA – contact, communication, follow-up, etc.
- Coordinate and supervise one-on-one aides including, but not limited to, interviewing, selecting, hiring, scheduling, coaching, encouraging
- Work as a one-on-one aide with campers with special needs to ensure a safe environment and space for lives transformed for all guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education:
- Some college required.
Work Experience:
- Experience working with special needs children and their families is highly desirable.
- Experience supervising others.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, without supervision, and make choices in the best interest of a child.
- Ability to communicate openly and effectively with child, his/her guardians, subordinates and supervisor.
- Must feel comfortable working with and around individuals with social, cognitive, or physical special needs.
- Must have patience and ability to set clear and loving boundaries.

- Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
