
Manufacturing Production Process Engineer III
Job Description
Inside the Role
Support machining activities and problem solving in machining lines, especially the cylinder head line on afternoon shift. Work will include daily production activities; shop floor management and alignment with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement. Hand off’s to and from other shifts for transparency. Active engagement with maintenance counterparts to resolve downtime issues and bring problems to closure. Taking ownership of these topics and seeing them through to completion. Direct interface with line supervisors and hourly workforce ensuring adherence to work methods and production metrics.Posting Information

Position offers a starting salary range of $108,000 – $139,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA
Provide engineering expertise in managing materials delivered from the integrated supply chain.
Drive continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing area to meet and exceed operational objectives and goals.
Mentor fellow engineers to further understand current manufacturing processes including design and development of new manufacturing processes.
Technical capability with knowledge of automated processes.
Troubleshoot problems on the shop floor, develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycle times.
Audit, teach, and drive execution to the benchmark standards while acting as a catalyst for continuous improvement.
Develop and execute projects to achieve company targets for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people (SQDCP).
Develop cause and effect analysis, process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) and control plans.
Focus on reducing costs of existing product through labor/machine efficiency, scrap reduction and OEE improvements.
Conduct install/qualification of tools including Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR), Process Stability and Capability (CP/CPK) and equipment/process matching.
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related from an accredited university
5-7 Years of relevant experience
Good understanding of Bill of Materials, Quality ISO standards, PFMEA.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
Experience in process development in an integrated team environment (project management, six sigma, shainin, Lean).
Proficient in Microsoft 365 software tools.
Ability to promote a positive working culture and environment.
Continuous improvement and problem-solving experience.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Master's degree from an accredited University
Strong working knowledge of Statistical Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Experience with CNCs, robotic machining, cold forming/stamping of parts and automated systems.
Experience with performance metrics, process improvements and lean techniques.
Proficient with CNC programming, able to interpret technical drawings and geometrical tolerances. Knowledge of Maximo and Prisma is a plus.
Detail oriented with strong record keeping and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate a production team to achieve high performance.
