Heat Treat Operator - 2nd Shift The Heat Treat Operator is responsible for performing various thermal processes for alloys of Aluminum, Titanium, Steel, and Inconel to support downstream forming processes and to achieve a final temper or condition per customer specifications. Uses precision measuring tools for the set up of heat treat batches. Learns to set up ovens and heat treat equipment including fixtures, racks, baskets, temperature controllers, and timers. Learns to identify fixture, rack, basket, or other tooling deficiencies, and alerts Value Stream Manager or Supervisor. Completes regular preventive maintenance on equipment assigned. Reads, follows, and updates shop travelers. Learns to create and interpret Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Works both independently and in a team setting to achieve Value Stream goals. Utilizes basic shop math skills, including addition and subtraction of whole numbers and time intervals. Reads, understands, and follows internal procedures and policies. Understands and follows through on both verbal and written instructions. Understands and uses the concepts taught relating to Lean Manufacturing Principles and 6-S guidelines. Learns basic principles of metallurgy. Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary. Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position. Performs other duties as required.
