Job Purpose

To lead and manage end-to-end store and logistics operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, warehousing, and distribution activities. The role is responsible for optimizing supply chain flow, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store & Inventory Management

  • Oversee all warehouse/store activities including receiving, storage, issuance, and stock control.
  • Ensure high inventory accuracy through robust control processes, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor stock levels and collaborate with procurement and planning teams to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions, material handling, and preservation of goods.

2. Logistics & Distribution Management

  • Lead outbound logistics, transportation planning, and delivery execution to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Manage relationships with transporters, 3PL providers, and logistics partners.
  • Optimize route planning, load utilization, and freight costs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery performance (OTIF – On Time In Full).

3. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement SOPs, policies, and best practices across store and logistics functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement and optimize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP, and digital tools.
  • Improve warehouse layout, space utilization, and process flow.

4. Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team across store and logistics operations.
  • Oversee manpower planning, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

5. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for inventory, transportation, and logistics activities.
  • Manage risks related to stock loss, damage, and operational disruptions.
  • Support internal and external audits.

6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure all warehouse and logistics activities comply with HSE standards.
  • Enforce safety procedures, conduct inspections, and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.

7. Reporting & Performance Management

  • Monitor and report key metrics such as inventory accuracy, delivery performance, and logistics costs.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Inventory accuracy & stock variance

  • Logistics cost per unit / per ton
  • Inventory turnover
  • Warehouse utilization
  • Order fulfillment cycle time
  • Safety compliance & incident rate

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Master’s Degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is an advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 10–12 years in store, warehouse, and logistics management
  • At least 5 years in a senior managerial role
  • Experience in manufacturing / FMCG / industrial environment preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and WMS
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Financial and cost management acumen
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
