ROLE SUMMARY:
The British College of Gavà, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Economics Teacher to join our Secondary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a purpose-built, expanding IB World School located just south of Barcelona.
The successful candidate will teach Economics across iGCSE and IB programmes, delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons and supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes. We are looking for a passionate and committed educator who thrives in a collaborative, international environment and is eager to contribute to the wider life of the school.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Economics lessons aligned with iGCSE and IB curricula.
- Develop differentiated teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress accurately and effectively.
- Prepare students for external examinations, including iGCSE and IB assessments.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student wellbeing.
- Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-curricular initiatives.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Degree in Economics, Business, or a related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Economics at Secondary level, including iGCSE and/or IB.
- Strong subject knowledge, particularly in IB Economics (highly desirable).
- Experience with iGCSE curriculum; Business Studies knowledge is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning
