Valiant is looking for a Junior Cyber Range Technician to join our team!
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experienced in the area of Cyber operations within the past 3 years and able to obtain IAT Level 2 (CCN/A, GICSP, Sec+, GSEC, SSCP) within a year.
- Able to learn how to builds, configure, and deploy virtualized servers, workstations, and complex network infrastructures (both classified and unclassified) to create realistic environments for cyber training and exercises.
- Able to learn how to Maintain the operational readiness, performance, and security of all cyber range hardware and software, including hypervisors, storage arrays, network devices, operating systems, and security tools.
- Able to learn how to Implement and stage custom training scenarios by deploying specific applications, user accounts, network traffic generators, and pre-planned vulnerabilities as directed by exercise planners.
- Able to learn how to Install, manage, and troubleshoot a wide array of commercial and open-source cybersecurity tools used for training, including security information and event management (SIEM), intrusion detection systems (IDS), and vulnerability scanners.
- Able to provide technical support to training audiences (both Blue and Red Teams) during live exercise events, resolving connectivity, system access, and tool functionality issues in real-time.
- Operates the range control systems to monitor, direct, and measure training events, including injecting events, scoring performance, and collecting data for after-action reports.
- Executes established procedures to reset and restore the cyber range environment to a clean, baseline state upon the conclusion of each training event.
- Creates and maintains detailed technical documentation for the range architecture, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and scenario configurations.
- Able to provide cyber range training to local US/ROK/UNC cyber defenders to enhance training/readiness.
