Tutor – CIPD Associate Programme (0.8 FTE)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK-based)
Contract: Part-time (0.8 FTE)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Reporting to: CIPD Programme Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and learner-focused Tutor to support delivery of the CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management and associated Associate-level programmes.
This role is ideal for a CIPD-qualified professional with a passion for developing learners, delivering high-quality academic support, and maintaining robust assessment standards. You will play a key role in ensuring learner success through excellent teaching, feedback, and ongoing engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Learner Support & Delivery
- Provide academic and assessment-related support to assigned learner cohorts and OnDemand learners
- Respond to learner queries within 48 hours, maintaining high standards of communication
- Deliver engaging live teaching sessions aligned to Associate-level content
- Lead learner inductions and provide one-to-one or small group support via Microsoft Teams
- Facilitate scheduled workshops, ensuring consistency with Associate programme expectations
Moodle & Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
- Actively monitor Moodle forums and learner communications, supporting positive engagement
- Post announcements and programme updates as required
- Support learners in navigating the VLE and resolving basic technical issues
Assessment & Feedback
- Mark assessments within agreed turnaround times, providing clear, developmental feedback aligned to CIPD standards
- Review draft submissions and offer guidance to support learner improvement
- Ensure assessment decisions meet quality and consistency expectations
Learner & Cohort Management
- Track learner progress and cohort performance, flagging concerns proactively
- Monitor and respond to the OnDemand inbox and/or Q&A forums
- Follow up with learners who fall behind, offering encouragement, guidance, and signposting
- Review learner feedback surveys and share insights with the Programme Manager
Quality, Compliance & Collaboration
- Attend standardisation meetings to support consistency across tutors
- Act as Unit Lead for a minimum of two Associate-level units (as allocated)
- Undertake IQA sampling in line with internal policies
- Attend mandatory meetings and contribute to curriculum development discussions
- Complete regular CPD and mandatory training
Essential Criteria
- Currently working in an advisory, education, or academic support role
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (minimum)
- CIPD Associate membership
- Strong understanding of CIPD Associate-level standards and requirements
- Experience using Virtual Learning Environments (e.g. Moodle)
- Familiarity with all units delivered within Associate-level programmes
- Excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service standards
Desirable Criteria
- Assessment qualification (e.g. Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
- IQA qualification (e.g. Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance)
