Position Purpose
The Mechanical Integrator I plays a key technical role in delivering TAIT’s live entertainment projects by integrating mechanical systems into cohesive, functional solutions. As a member of the Portable Integration team, this role contributes across the full project lifecycle—from early coordination and shop testing to on-site installation and final client delivery.
Mechanical Integrator I is a hands-on role for early-career professionals who are ready to take ownership of defined scopes of work. This position builds on foundational skills and introduces independent execution, field troubleshooting, and small-scale leadership within the integration process.
Integrators at this level begin to lead scopes within larger projects, apply technical knowledge across rigging, staging, and motion systems, and contribute to documentation and process improvements. They also begin mentoring Associates and supporting team communication.
This role is structured to evolve with the individual’s development. Over time, Integrators are expected to demonstrate increasing autonomy, technical competency, and leadership - building a strong reputation within their market and contributing meaningfully to TAIT’s collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.
- GED or High School Diploma.
- 2+ years in a mechanical or technical role.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with fabrication, rigging, or automation preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally. (average 120+ days/year).
- Ability to work in varied entertainment environments (e.g., shops, backstage, catwalks, cruise ships).
- Right to work in the US or UK.
- Based in Lititz or Wakefield preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift or move 70 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Must be able to pull or push 140 lbs.
Work conditions of the role:
- Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
- Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location
- Ability to work in “entertainment conditions” including a wide variety of working places such as shops, backstage, catwalks at height, construction areas, theme parks, and cruise ships.
