Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Task Force Leadership & Coordination;
Establish and lead the Technology Obsolescence Task Force, comprising application, infrastructure, security, architecture, procurement, and finance stakeholders
Define task force scope, success criteria, timelines, and governance
Ensure rapid issue resolution, escalation, and decision-making
Obsolescence Identification & Assessment;
Conduct accelerated assessments to identify end-of-life, end-of-support, and obsolete technologies
Classify obsolescence risks by severity, business impact, and urgency
Evaluate operational, security, compliance, and financial risks
Remediation Planning & Execution;
Develop prioritized remediation action plans (upgrade, replace, migrate, isolate, or decommission)
Drive execution of critical remediation initiatives within agreed timelines
Coordinate dependencies across teams to avoid delivery blockers
Track execution progress and intervene where delays or risks emerge
Risk & Stakeholder Management;
Act as the single point of accountability for obsolescence-related risks within the task force scope
Communicate risk posture, trade-offs, and remediation status to senior stakeholders
Facilitate informed decisions where technical, cost, or timing constraints exist
Governance, Reporting & Closure;
Define task force metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadence
Provide regular status updates to steering committees or executive sponsors
Job Requirement
Technical & Domain Expertise
Strong experience in technology lifecycle and obsolescence management
Broad understanding of infrastructure, platforms, applications, and vendor support models
Familiarity with security, regulatory, and audit implications of obsolete technology
Leadership & Delivery Experience;
10-12+ years in IT leadership, program delivery, architecture, or technology risk roles
Proven experience leading cross-functional task forces or crisis remediation initiatives
Strong execution mindset with ability to operate under time and risk pressure
Stakeholder & Communication Skills;
Ability to influence without formal authority
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
