GENERAL EDUCATION PARA EDUCATOR
VISTA RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL


ABOUT THE POSITION
School District 49 is seeking a General Education Para Educator at Vista Ridge High School. This position is for the 26/27 school year.

This position is for a professional In-School Suspension Monitor to serve as a bridge between school discipline and academic reengagement. By maintaining a structured and reflective environment, the monitor ensures students stay engaged with their coursework and can redirect behavior. A successful person in this position should be able to build respectful connections with students who may be hesitant or resistant and maintain the presence and awareness necessary to supervise a group of students while ensuring a calm, orderly atmosphere throughout the day. The ideal candidate will recognize the underlying causes behind behaviors, helping students reinforce positive behavior plans and return to the classroom successfully. Key responsibilities include working with the administration to communicate with teachers regarding work requests and reinforcing academic instruction. Proficiency in, or the ability to learn, digital platforms such as Google Classroom and Schoology is required to effectively support students in managing their assignments and communication.

Calendar: School Year - 172 days 
Reports to: Principal
Hourly rate of pay: The pay range is $20.45 to $25.78 per hour, based on relevant prior work experience. The final starting rate will be determined after reviewing the experience listed on the job application. Please ensure all relevant work experience is included to support accurate pay placement.
Full-time or Part-time: Full-time
