Job Description

Full-time

This position is a full-time, permanent clinical position within Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including explaining exams and answering questions
  • Perform high-quality MRI studies using proper technical factors and scanning protocols
  • Recognize pathology and adjust scanning parameters to optimize image quality
  • Adhere to MRI safety procedures, including patient screening and equipment protocols
  • Ensure safety when transferring patients from wheelchairs to the table
  • Complete required documentation and imaging reports accurately and thoroughly
  • Maintain exam rooms and stock necessary radiologic supplies
  • Support timely image review and specialty reads for stat or urgent exams
  • Monitor and maintain continuing education credits as required by ARRT and the State of Tennessee
  • Dependable and capable of adjusting schedules to meet workload demands and staffing demands
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Ability to properly perform venipuncture and contrast administration

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MRI principles, pulse sequences, and quality control procedures
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and patient service skills, especially with claustrophobic patients
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, radiologists, and office staff
  • Capable of managing schedules to meet workload and department needs
  • Familiarity with proper MRI shutdown sequence and MRI safety protocols

  • Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration
  • State of Tennessee licensure
  • MRI registration or within one year of start date
  • Ability to lift and transport patients using wheelchairs
