Job Description
Description: Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for Westfield Elementary School. This position will be for the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Type: This candidate will be tasked with instructing Kindergarten students in such a manner as to inspire, motivate and stimulate the child to develop skills and concepts to the utmost of the child's learning capabilities.
Job Responsibilities (other responsibilities may be assigned):
1. To direct and supervise the conduct of all students in the classroom, school facilities and grounds.
2. To recommend the assignment of students.
3. To recommend changes and improvements in the curriculum to the principal and/or appropriate curriculum committees.
4. To seek assistance from or through the principal, supportive services staff or other specialists to improve the instructional program, or to help solve specific problems.
Qualifications: All applicants for this position are required to meet Illinois State Board of Education requirements, including a PEL, Bachelor's degree, Elementary Education K-9 endorsement (ELEM. Endorsements required: Elem, EL or LBS1 preferred.

Salary and Benefits: All certified staff are placed on a salary schedule according to education and experience as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The starting BA, 1 salary for the 2024-2025 year was $54,947.24 however as we are currently in negotiations, this will likely change. Certified staff experience 12 sick days and 4 personal days of paid time off. All full-time staff have the privilege of partaking in our health and dental insurance programs; these include 90% Board paid health insurance for the employee (80% for family) and 100% Board paid dental insurance for the individual staff member.
