
Electrician (Graveyard Shift/Swing Shift)
Job Description
The Port of Portland is hiring for a PDX Maintenance Electrician (Graveyard/Swing Shift).
From ground power units to airfield lighting, the PDX Maintenance Electricians keep the lights on at PDX. The successful candidate will maintain the electrical supply throughout the airport by replacing and repairing when needed. This includes maintaining the lighting on the airfields!
Hours are set by seniority shift bid per the labor agreement. Shifts may include one weekend day; the successful candidate must be available to work a set day, swing, or graveyard shift.
Most likely, the successful candidate will work a graveyard/or swing shift: Wednesday - Saturday. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

- Maintain Electrical supply throughout the Airport systems including but not limited to pump stations, airfield lighting, lighting, lighting control, fire alarm, access controls, UPS, and generators.
- Conduct maintenance of electrical distribution systems ranging in voltages from 15kV.
- Trouble-shoot electrical and electronic controls, including relay logic, PLC programming.
- Respond to equipment malfunction.
Education & Experience:
- (Required) Four (4) years knowledge of PLC-based control systems.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
- (Preferred) Electronic schooling in controllers, data-gathering, and/or solid-state controls.
License or Certifications:
- (Required) Oregon State General Journeyman license at time of hire.
- (Required) Maintain a valid state driver's license.
- (Required) Ability to obtain a Security Badge at PDX or other Port facilities with certain designations.
- (Required) Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- This role includes participating on the snow removal team during the winter months.
- (Preferred) Class B commercial driver's license at time of hire.
