Job Description

Combustion Supervisor 

Position Overview 

Strong electrical background. Provide day-to-day supervision of combustion personnel. Develop maintenance and repair plans based on their knowledge of the furnaces to comply with NADCAP certification. Use professional knowledge to review work orders to create reports and develop furnace upgrades to deal with repetitive issues and needed improvements to minimize safety risks and downtime.

Essential Job Functions

Provide work assignments for preventive maintenance of equipment and/or repair of equipment when necessary

Place orders for necessary repair material, spare parts and TC’s.

Analyze furnace equipment failure to prevent future problems.

Assist in Capital Expenditure planning by providing input regarding furnace failure history and recommending furnace upgrades.

Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

Instruct and ensure that employees are practicing safe work habits.

Plan PMs, CMs, Predictive, & Furnaces Upgrades ensuring proper personnel, equipment, parts, supporting contractors, drawings, and coordination with operations for planned machine outage.

Conduct detailed walk through with personnel affecting repairs on parts, having them organized by job, and an on-the-job face to face review, and supervise where necessary. Completion of any needed job permits, and safety reviews

Co-ordinate with contractors, engineering firms, and vendors to make sure the prescribed scope of work is clearly identified and executed on time

Write and follow purchase requisitions to ensure they are correct in scope and being processed in a timely manner to meet the required deadlines.

Maintain a TUS/SAT Schedule by furnace, planned outages, and parts status for upcoming jobs.

Work with maintenance manager and CMM Person to monitor Critical Spares List to ensure timely planned receipt of spares, and follow CAPEX submissions from start to receipt of parts / service

Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

Strong electrical experience in an industrial or steel- related environment

5 years Maintenance Experience in Heavy Industry 

Experience with NADCAP preferred 

Training in all areas of electrical/mechanical testing and repairs

High School diploma or degree in maintenance required.

Previous maintenance supervisory experience preferred

Must be organized, have excellent communication skills, and possess an understanding of preventive maintenance techniques.
