We are seeking experienced, highly motivated Field Service Fitters to join our Hastings Deering team, supporting operations across the Rockhampton area, ensuring reliability and performance.
These are permanent positions with either a Monday-Friday (38 hours) roster or a day-7/7 roster – whatever suits your circumstances best!
As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:
Perform maintenance, repairs and reconditioning work on all CAT machinery and engines.
Ensure repairs are carried out following appropriate control guidelines to prevent rework.
Assess the reusability of all disassembled parts.
Submit accurate service reports, timecards, parts request sheets and parts quotes.
Support the sale of genuine parts and provide guidance and advice to customers when required.

About You
A successful teammate will have:
Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent diesel fitter trade.
Caterpillar product knowledge – experience working on CAT machinery, systems and diagnostic tooling.
Strong troubleshooting skills – ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults independently.
Customer-focused mindset – confident in building relationships, managing expectations and providing clear updates.
Safety-first approach – committed to maintaining high WHS standards at all times.
Valid driver’s licence – required to travel between customer sites across the Rockhampton region.
