Job Description
Job Responsibilities;
Project Planning & Delivery;
Plan and manage technology obsolescence remediation projects from initiation through closure
Define project scope, milestones, timelines, and deliverables
Coordinate upgrades, migrations, replacements, or decommissioning activities
Ensure delivery aligns with agreed technical, business, and regulatory requirements
Scope, Schedule & Dependency Management;
Manage interdependencies across applications, infrastructure, security, vendors, and business teams
Identify and manage schedule risks, constraints, and critical path activities
Ensure proper sequencing of remediation activities to avoid service disruption
Risk & Issue Management;
Identify and track project risks related to obsolete technologies
Manage issues, escalations, and decision points in a timely manner
Support risk acceptance, mitigation, or remediation decisions where required
Stakeholder Coordination;
Act as the primary coordination point between technology teams, business owners, vendors, and governance forums
Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and steering updates
Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders
Vendor & Third‑Party Coordination;
Coordinate with vendors on upgrade paths, support timelines, licensing, and delivery plans
Track vendor dependencies and delivery commitments
Support procurement and contract activities related to obsolete technology remediation
Governance, Reporting & Controls;
Maintain project plans, RAID logs, and documentation
Provide regular status reporting to program leads, task force leads, or steering committees
Ensure adherence to organizational project management and change control standards
Transition & Closure;
Ensure proper handover to operations or support teams
Validate documentation, support readiness, and operational acceptance
Close projects with lessons learned and post‑implementation review
Required Skills & Experience
Project Management Experience
8–12+ years of experience in IT project management
Proven track record delivering infrastructure, platform, or application change initiatives
Experience managing multiple concurrent technology projects
Technical & Domain Understanding
Good understanding of technology lifecycles (hardware, software, OS, databases, middleware, cloud platforms)
Familiarity with end‑of‑life, end‑of‑support, and vendor lifecycle concepts
Awareness of security, stability, and compliance risks associated with obsolete technology
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
Strong coordination and communication skills across technical and non‑technical teams
Ability to manage diverse stakeholders with competing priorities
Clear documentation and reporting capability
