Senior / Executive, Maintenance Planning & Support
Job Description
Responsibilities
1) Maintenance Engineering & Fault Analysis
- Perform fault diagnosis and root cause analysis on bus systems and components.
- Analyse failure trends and maintenance data to reduce repeat defects.
- Provide technical support to depots and maintenance teams.
- Recommend improvements to enhance fleet reliability, availability, and safety.
2) Projects & Modification Management
- Support and manage engineering projects, including modifications, upgrades, and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate project scope, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
- Support heavy maintenance programmes, fleet introductions, and engineering changes.
- Track progress and prepare technical updates and reports.
3) Trials, Testing & Validation
- Plan and conduct trials for new components, systems, or maintenance solutions.
- Define trial objectives, collect data, and assess performance outcomes.
- Coordinate trial activities with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure trials comply with safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
4) OEM & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the engineering interface with bus OEMs and suppliers on technical matters.
- Coordinate investigations and corrective actions with OEMs.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Procurement, and Safety teams.
5) Tender Specification & Evaluation
- Prepare technical specifications and scope of work for engineering‑related tenders.
- Support tender evaluations, including technical compliance reviews and clarification with vendors.
- Provide technical recommendations for award decisions in accordance with governance requirements.
6) Maintenance Standards & System Setup
- Develop, review, and improve maintenance checklists and task content.
- Maintain and update maintenance plans, checklists, and engineering data in maintenance systems (e.g. SAP PM).
- Ensure maintenance task content reflects OEM recommendations, trial outcomes, and field learnings.
7) Reliability, Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Support reliability improvement through defect analysis and corrective actions.
- Recommend process or technical changes to improve component performance and lifecycle cost.
- Maintain engineering documentation and support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline
- 3–5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance or fleet engineering
(Senior role: typically, 5–8+ years)
Skills
- Knowledge of bus systems such as engine, traction motor, driveline, braking, and electrical systems.
- Experience in fault analysis, trials, and technical evaluations.
- Exposure to tender specification writing and technical evaluation is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP PM or maintenance systems preferred.
- Able to work effectively with OEMs, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in regulated or public‑transport environments is a plus.
