Back to jobsPrototype and product builds: Lead and participate directly in the assembly of prototypes and low-volume production products, performing hands-on work with tools and machinery.
Process development and tooling: Design and create manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures to support the assembly and build process.
Shop floor support: Provide direct, daily technical support to technicians and assembly line personnel, troubleshooting build problems and implement immediate corrective actions.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Work closely with the design engineering team to ensure components are easily and efficiently assembled. Provide hands-on feedback on product design and suggest improvements based on physical build experience.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed, easy-to-follow build instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for production staff based on practical experience.
Root-cause analysis: Investigate build failures and quality issues by hands-on inspection and testing. Use methodologies such as 5 Whys to determine and address the root cause of production problems.
Equipment installation and testing: Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of new or modified manufacturing equipment, ensuring it meets build requirements.
Supplier collaboration: Work with suppliers and vendors to confirm part quality, assess components, and troubleshoot any issues related to materials or parts.
