Position Summary
The Membership Sales & Engagement Specialist is responsible for driving membership growth while delivering a high-touch, relationship-focused experience that reflects the standards of a Forbes Travel Guide property. This role combines consultative sales with proactive member engagement, ensuring both acquisition and retention through personalized service, community-building, and consistent follow-through.
This position serves as a brand ambassador for the Sports Club, creating meaningful connections with prospective and current members while promoting the full suite of resort amenities.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Revenue Growth
- Proactively generate and convert leads through tours, outreach, referrals, and events
- Conduct personalized club tours highlighting amenities, programs, and lifestyle benefits
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual membership sales goals
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and activity tracking in Paylocity or CRM tools
- Follow up consistently with prospects to drive conversion and close sales
Member Engagement & Retention
- Build strong relationships with members through consistent communication and presence
- Develop and execute engagement strategies to increase usage and retention
- Coordinate and host member events, orientations, and community-building activities
- Identify at-risk members and implement retention strategies
- Serve as a point of contact to resolve concerns and elevate the member experience
Guest & Member Experience (Forbes-Level Service)
- Deliver anticipatory, personalized service aligned with Forbes Travel Guide standards
- Maintain a visible and professional presence within the Sports Club
- Collaborate with departments (Fitness, Aquatics, Spa, Food & Beverage) to enhance the member journey
- Ensure seamless onboarding experience for all new members
Administrative & Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate membership records, agreements, and billing coordination
- Support onboarding processes including documentation and orientation scheduling
- Prepare reports on sales performance, engagement metrics, and retention trends
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in sales, hospitality, fitness, or membership-based environments
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to deliver a luxury-level service experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Paylocity or CRM systems preferred
