Head of Provision
Job Description
Up to £90,000
This is a remote based role providing online learning with some travel to Witherslack Group sites as required and potential for limited international travel.
Those huge small victories
We are the highest Ofsted-rated provider in the country for special education and care. As we expand our offer through our innovative Inclusion Services online provision, we remain driven by the same belief, that even the smallest positive changes in our young people matter. Our teams are fulfilled by those huge small victories, whether that’s a learner re-engaging with education online, building confidence in a subject they once avoided, or taking meaningful steps towards reintegration and positive outcomes.
Get out what you put in
As Head of Provision within our Inclusion Services online offer, you will design, lead and deliver a high-quality, national provision for young people who need education done differently.
This is not a traditional leadership role. You will work with pupils who are often disengaged from education and do not respond to standard models. They need a provision that is flexible, relational and built around them, and a leader who can set a clear direction, make confident decisions and bring people with you.
You will build and lead a provision that drives engagement, improves attendance and creates meaningful pathways for the future. You will shape the curriculum, define the teaching approach and establish the routines and systems that make the provision effective day to day. You’ll adapt quickly, think strategically and stay focused on what genuinely improves outcomes for young people.
Alongside leading delivery, you will design the model itself, developing a strong online pedagogy, building a high-performing team, and creating the systems, partnerships and quality frameworks needed to support sustainable growth. Working with education, clinical and operational colleagues, you will create a calm, safe and aspirational environment and play a key role in shaping a provision that is innovative, scalable and truly inclusive.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is resilient, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity
• Can make clear, confident decisions while building trust
• Holds high expectations alongside empathy and consistency
• Brings energy, clarity and purpose to leadership
• Understands how to engage pupils who are disengaged or resistant
• Is reflective, strategic and committed to safeguarding
• Believes in improving outcomes for the whole child, not just academic measures
