UW Medical Center-Montlake – 8SE Oncology Outpatient Infusion has an outstanding opportunity for a Part Time Registered Nurse.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 80% FTE / 32 hours per week

  • Must be available to work a mix of 10-hour and 12-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday

  • This position will work 3 days per week - the exact days worked may vary by week

  • Our clinic is closed on nights, weekends, and holidays

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
8SE Outpatient Infusion
has 14 infusion chairs and provides care to both UW Medicine and Fred Hutchinson patients. Patients may receive antibiotics, chemotherapy, transfusions, or symptom management in any phase of their treatment course. 8SE is a nursing-led unit and is staffed exclusively with chemo-certified RNs.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Be part of a nursing-led unit

  • Provide highly needed infusion care to vulnerable patients

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screen patients for administration of medications via IV infusion

  • Ensure patients who are presenting are able to tolerate their infusions

  • Place IVs, access ports, and PICCs

  • Initiate, assess, and observe patients during infusions

  • Disconnect IVs and monitor patients post infusion

  • Document all above activities in the Electronic Medical Record

  • Provide education for patients and their families

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current certification in chemo administration

  • Broad range of chemo infusion experience

  • Experience with all types of central venous access catheters

  • Excellent skills with peripheral IVs

  • BLS

  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

  • 2 years of nursing work experience

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$45.59 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$83.64 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour Certification premium - $1.25/hour Overtime pay
