UW Medical Center-Montlake - Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full time / 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday, with some call responsibilities
  • Call responsibilities will include 1-2 weekend shifts per month
  • RNs will work a mix of 8-hour shifts and 10-hour shifts
  • Shifts will run between 7:00am and 7:00pm; the exact start times will vary by day
  • Preference will be given to RNs who can regularly work later in the day


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Radiation Oncology provides care to patients of all ages - including pediatric patients - who are undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. Our radiation therapy services have been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to triage and prioritize patient needs
  • Serves in a roving role, addressing emergent situations as they arise throughout the shift
  • Supports multiple providers
  • Educates patients and their families on symptom management
  • Assists in complex care coordination and continuity of care referrals
  • Supports patients undergoing TBI prior to transplant
  • Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)
  • Performs phone triage
  • Answers patient calls and eCare messages
  • Monitors patient flow in the clinic


REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of recent oncology, medical-surgical, or ambulatory nursing experience
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Active BLS
  • Must be willing to work with pediatric patients

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$45.59 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$83.64 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour Certification premium - $1.25/hour Weekend premium - $4.00/hour On call standby premium - $7.00 per hour Overtime pay
