Contract: Full Time
Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am until 5:30pm with 1 hours unpaid lunch break

Purpose of role
The Technical Product Owner is responsible for owning and prioritizing the product backlog for technical products, platforms, or infrastructure solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with product management capabilities to bridge engineering teams and business stakeholders, making critical technical trade-off decisions, ensuring that products are designed, built, and maintained to deliver maximum value, scalability, and performance.
Key responsibilities
Product Vision & Technical Alignment
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Ensure alignment between product vision, architecture, and technical roadmap.
- Validate technical feasibility of requirements and adjust scope based on constraints.
- Balance technical excellence with business value, optimizing short-term delivery and long-term system health.
Backlog Ownership & Delivery Support
- Own and manage the technical product backlog, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Define technical acceptance criteria and quality standards for all backlog items.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to support agile delivery.
- Review and approve completed work against acceptance criteria and quality benchmarks.
- Support release planning, testing coordination, and deployment readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Technical Decision-Making
- Act as the primary interface between engineering teams and stakeholders, translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and vice versa.
- Make technical trade-off decisions on priorities such as feature development, technical debt, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand user needs, system dependencies, and integration requirements.
- Analyse product performance and propose improvements or enhancements.
- Manage technical debt and prioritize architectural improvements to maintain system sustainability.

- Platforms - APIs, cloud technologies, and data platforms (depending on product domain).
- Product Management – Ability to translate business goals into clear product requirements and deliver solutions that align with strategic objectives
- Agile Delivery – Skilled in agile methodologies, backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
- Stakeholder Management – Confident in engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations, and building trust.
- Analytical Thinking – Capable of analysing complex problems, data, and user feedback to inform product decisions.
- Prioritisation & Decision-Making – Balances competing priorities and technical constraints to maximise product value.
- Communication – Clearly articulates technical concepts to diverse audiences and ensures shared understanding across teams.
- Collaboration – Works effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, UX, and business leads.
- Commercial Awareness – Understands how product decisions impact business performance, scalability, and ROI.
- Adaptability – Responds effectively to change, ambiguity, and evolving requirements in a fast-paced environment.
