Summary
The Prospect Development Manager plays a strategic leadership role in advancing the fundraising efforts of Covenant Health. This position leads prospect research, pipeline development, portfolio management, and data analytics initiatives to ensure disciplined moves management, appropriate portfolio construction, and measurable stage movement from identification through solicitation. The Manager identifies and evaluates prospective donors, analyzes complex financial and biographical data, and translates research insights into clear, actionable strategies that support major gift cultivation and solicitation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prospect Identification & Research Strategy
Lead the identification of potential donors aligned with Covenant Health’s mission and strategic priorities.
Develop and implement a comprehensive prospect research and data analytics strategy.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on current, including prospective donors, providing insights and recommendations to inform fundraising strategies.
Analyze complex financial, philanthropic, and biographical data to assess giving capacity and inclination.
Interpret local and national news and publications to assess impact on donor relationships.
Stay current on trends in philanthropy, prospect research, and technical developments.
Synthesize complex data into clear, concise, actionable and strategic focused briefings for fundraisers and senior leadership.
Continuously improve prospect research systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage research tool subscriptions and usage.
Data Analytics & Portfolio Management
Use donor databases and prospect research tools to gather, evaluate, and segment donor data.
Generate prospect lists, donor profiles, event briefs, and strategic briefing materials
Monitor and report on the health of the prospect pipeline by tracking where prospects reside in the fundraising cycle, how quickly they are progressing and their readiness for solicitation.
Identify pipeline gaps and recommend strategies to strengthen prospect flow and portfolio balance.
Establish and apply standards for prospect qualification, assignment, and movement through pipeline.
Lead regular portfolio review meetings to assess prospect movement, identify stalled prospects and support strategic decision-making.
Partner with fundraisers to develop customized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Maintain CRM data integrity by updating and validating prospect information.

Serve as a strategic resource to the Foundation and broader organization.
Support and promote the mission and values of Covenant Health and the Catholic Health Ministry.
Perform other duties consistent with this role.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Equivalent significant experience in prospect research or a closely related field may be considered.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in prospect development; direct ownership of pipeline health and portfolio performance metrics; and partnering directly with frontline gift officers to shape strategy
Experience working within a highly complex, mission-driven organization
Job Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency with best-in-class donor research and wealth screening tools.
Demonstrated experience building and refining a prospect identification strategy to expand the major gift pipeline
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to evaluate portfolio performance, stage movement patterns and overall pipeline momentum
Experience with CRM systems, Microsoft Office (including Excel), and internet research tools.
Familiarity with analytical tools, financial statements, wealth indicators, and grant databases.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to synthesize complex data into concise, actionable briefings for frontline fundraisers, boards, campaign committees and senior leadership.
Strong collaboration skills with a preference for team-based environments.

Comp Range:
$73,014.51 - $100,552.37Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.
