Job Description

  • PhD in Chemistry plus 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Relevant experience in laboratory management and instructional delivery;
  • Experience supporting laboratory operations and teaching academic courses;
  • Highly experienced with pedagogical aspects of hands-on chemistry education;
  • Highly experienced with the use and maintenance of high-valve scientific instruments;
  • Expertise across all subdisciplines of chemistry at a minimum B.Sc. level;
  • Experience with lecture design and delivery;
  • Experience with assessment design and implementation;
  • Proficiency with standard office software, including Microsoft OS, Word, & Excel;
  • Understanding of the chemical safety and regulations, including SDS;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships;
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills including multitasking, planning and prioritization;
  • Relevant experience in staff management and a solid grasp of HR policies would be advantageous for this position;
  • Familiarity with AODA and understanding of digital security and privacy issues would be considered an asset.
