You execute the regulatory affairs strategy for your respective categories and geographical area using your technical and regulatory expertise. You ensure the regulatory and policy compliance of our portfolio and ensure policies, regulatory programs and requirements are met.

How you will contribute

You will implement the regulatory affairs strategy and work with cross-functional teams to anticipate regulatory business risks and opportunities. In addition, you will provide regulatory affairs expertise for technical regulatory developments and help with responses to challenges and crisis management. In this role, you will ensure that ingredients, product composition, claims and labelling is in compliance with regulations and company policies, provide guidance to stakeholders on regulatory affairs, propose and implement business solutions in response to regulatory changes, and maintain and develop a strong knowledge of regulatory, scientific and nutrition risks and opportunities in your corresponding market.

More about this role

The Senior Scientist II, Regulatory Affairs, is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining regulatory strategies to ensure product compliance with applicable local and international regulations and laws. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Commercial, Quality, Legal) to guide product development from concept to launch and post-market maintenance, ensuring all regulatory aspects are addressed effectively and promptly.

What you need to know about this position:

  • Develop and implement robust regulatory strategies for new products and modifications to existing products, ensuring regulatory compliance in target markets.

  • Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in relevant global and local regulatory guidelines and regulations for the company's products. Assess the impact of these changes on products and processes

  • Provide expert guidance and regulatory advice to internal teams (R&D, Production, Marketing) on regulatory requirements for product development, formulation, labeling, advertising, and commercialization.

  • Actively participate in cross-functional project teams, representing the Regulatory Affairs function and ensuring that regulatory considerations are integrated into the overall project plan

  • Review and approve labeling, packaging, and marketing materials to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Act as a mentor or resource for junior Regulatory Affairs scientists, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.

Master's (M.Sc.) or Doctorate (Ph.D.) in a related field or Regulatory Affairs is preferred.

Job specific requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Regulatory Affairs within the relevant industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, medical devices, food, cosmetics, consumer goods).

  • Demonstrated experience in successful preparation and submission of regulatory dossiers.

  • In-depth knowledge of key regulations and guidelines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in [local language, e.g., Spanish] and English.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, with the ability to anticipate and resolve regulatory issues.
  • Knowledge of regulatory documentation management tools and systems.
  • Integrity and professional ethics.
