The Role

Due to a growing pipeline of work, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering group in Melbourne, supporting the design and delivery of building services projects within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.

This is a delivery-focused role suited to an engineer who enjoys being hands-on with design, developing technical capability and contributing to contributing to complete, high-quality engineering solutions across the project lifecycle. You will operate as a technical contributor within project teams, supporting Senior Engineers, Associates and project leadership to deliver defined scopes of work.

In the role of Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Contributing to building services design from concept through to construction.
  • Producing coordinated drawings, calculations, reports and specifications.
  • Working closely with Senior Engineers and Associates to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines to resolve interfaces and design challenges.
  • Supporting construction‑phase activities including site inspections and technical queries.
  • Developing your understanding of project delivery within a consulting environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Typically, 2–6 years’ experience in building services design (consulting preferred).
  • Background in building services design of data centers, commercial, industrial, health, defence, education, sports and aquatic or mixed-use projects.
  • Data Centre / Mission Critical project experience (highly desirable / preferred).
  • Experience in preparing specifications, reports & technical documentation.
  • Experience performing load assessments, fault studies and coordination studies.
  • Strong understanding of relevant Australian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including IEC, IEEE and TIA-942.
  • Experience with design tools Software proficiency usingsuch as Visio, ETAP, SKM, Vipcodia, PowerCad (or similar) and Revit (BIM coordination).

  • Sound technical foundations with a developing level of discipline-specific knowledge and experience.
  • Enjoy hands-on design work and takes pride in producing accurate, well-coordinated outputs.
  • Comfortable working under direction while progressively taking ownership of defined tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and coordination.
  • Curious and growth-oriented, with a willingness to ask questions, challenge assumptions and continuously learn.
  • Collaborative team member who contributes positively to project and office culture.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and technical excellence.
