Job Description

 Wings Recovery in Carlsbad, CA is hiring a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant to join their team.

** MUST BE CERTIFIED CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR REGISTERED MEDICAL ASSISTANT WITH PROOF OF CERTIFICATION **

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing oversight and management in the area of medication policies and procedures and other safety issues. The MA collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary team (Treatment Team) to deliver effective treatment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients
  • Provide effective crisis intervention
  • Demonstrate active listening skills
  • Oversee Client Care Technicians in the areas of medical issues including, medications, vitals, and other safety items.
  • Input medications into eMar
  • Ensure eMAR is up to date with current provider prescribed medications
  • Go through the vitals to flag any major medical issues that need to be addressed and report to medical provider.
  • Liason between Client Care Technicians, Clinical Staff and Medical team on medical and medication issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant required with Board Certificate (not Diploma).
  • Attainment of at least 18 years of age.
  • Education: Minimum of Medical Assistant Certification
  • Experience: One year full-time experience working directly with clients in a program serving people with mental illness. An approved Plan of Supervision may be substituted for one year full-time experience.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of and belief in the principles of client centered treatment. Knowledge of medications and interventions preferred.
  • Special Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance. Hiring is contingent upon receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption, a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508), a TB test, and clearance on an employment physical. Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred prior to employment.

The range provided is for California based hires only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations other than CA may differ based on the cost of living in that geographic location.
