SUMMARY: Effectively communicate to all resort departments the information necessary to successfully execute the group’s needs while maintaining a good client relationship. Coordinate and oversee client functions to ensure customer satisfaction, build and maintain new accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Catering Sales Manager at Seascape Beach Resort services all definite group business, which includes effectively up selling Food & Beverage (F&B) functions in order to maximize revenues. He/she is also responsible for establishing new accounts with social and corporate business as assigned by market and soliciting F&B business from existing accounts. The Catering Sales Manager acts as a liaison for the client for all logistical planning and organizing and the Banquet Manager who will service the event.
- Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat filming business while adhering to prime time selling standards while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals.
Manage the day-to-day relationship between the operations and the client, to ensure excellent service and smooth event delivery. - Assist in planning client's events while coordinating F&B activities.
- Ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality to our guests by being their hotel contact.
- Review and direct the work of outside contractors when needed while ensuring set-up, pricing and following through meets hotel and corporate quality standards and customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Set solicitation goals with the Director of Sales & Marketing and meet or exceed solicitation goals and revenue goals.
- Develop current accounts & generate new business.
- Meet and greet in-house guests upon arrival, review the course of events and introduce other staff members (banquet manager, captain, etc.).
- Develop menus and agendas, ensure BEO's are issued, and complete all pertinent correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs.
- Handle inquiry calls and outside sales calls. Follow through to completion of function(s).
- Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for all Catering groups.
- Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
- Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
- Work with other F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
- Maintain current information and monitor booking trends to produce forecast figures and month-end reports.
- Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures
- Previous catering sales experience in a reputable hotel/restaurant/ fdc experience
- Thorough knowledge of hotel services and facilities
- Previous managerial experience in hotel/resort sales
- Support safe work habits and always contribute to a safe working environment.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Two year’s related hotel/resort industry experience and/or training.
- High school or GED graduate.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, comprehend and provide instructions, both written and verbal.
- Ability to effectively present information to individuals and all sizes of groups (i.e., clients, customers, guests, associates, managers etc.).
- Ability to entertain clients in a professional business manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
COMPUTER SKILLS (FOR ADMINISTRATION OR MANAGEMENT POSITIONS):
- Computer skills required for communication and reporting- Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with front office systems and Delphi preferred. Knowledge of GDS and OTA web portals as they apply to transient and leisure travel.
- Proficient in Outlook and Internet applications.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
- Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.
- Valid California Driver License is required (for specific positions).
