Shop Hand supports shop, field, and facility operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This role assists with property upkeep, material handling, prefabrication tasks, equipment and vehicle maintenance, and occasional jobsite deliveries to ensure smooth daily operations. In this position, the individual works closely with shop leadership to ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly organized, maintained, and available. Through strong organization, attention to cleanliness, and safety awareness, Shop Hand contributes to reduced downtime, accurate material control, and dependable support to field operations.
Key Responsibilities
Facility & Property Maintenance
· Clean and maintain the office area.
· Clean and organize the shop; keep shelving tidy.
· Maintain parking lots and exterior property areas.
· Perform general facility cleanup and upkeep.
· Maintain shop and office stock, including supplies and consumables.
· Monitor inventory levels and notify management when restocking is needed.
Material & Inventory Support
· Put away materials returned from job sites.
· Pull material kits for upcoming jobs and label them clearly.
· Stage and place material kits on the will-call shelf.
· Assist in returning unused materials to suppliers.
· Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
Shop & Equipment Support
· Assist in prefabrication work as needed.
· Maintain and repair company tools and equipment.
· Inspect equipment and report damage or safety concerns.
Vehicle Support
· Assist in company truck inspections.
· Perform minor repairs and maintenance.
· Occasionally make jobsite deliveries.
Operational Support
· Support shop and field crews as needed.
· Follow safety procedures and company standards.
· Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
· Basic mechanical aptitude.
· Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
· Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
· Valid driver’s license preferred.
