As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engineering solutions that support critical land defence platforms across their full lifecycle. Working within our Design and Supportability team, you will balance technical engineering expertise with project management responsibility, helping to solve complex challenges, improve equipment performance, and ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Conduct defect investigations and perform root cause analysis on in-service equipment issues
- Produce engineering design packs, including CAD modelling, analysis and technical reports
- Manage engineering change requests and assess design impacts across platforms
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and MOD stakeholders to deliver project outcomes
- Monitor project progress, manage budgets and timelines, and report to senior stakeholders
Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of Defence Support Group sites on a weekly basis such as: Andover, Warminster, Donnington and Bovington alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Engineer:
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of engineering standards, materials and manufacturing processes
- Applying knowledge of engineering practices and techniques in a practical environment
- Delivering projects with responsibility for timelines, cost and quality
- Solving problems creatively with a high level of attention to detail
- Bringing experience from defence, or a similar highly regulated engineering environment is desirable
Qualifications for the Project Engineer:
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
- Certified Engineer, or working towards certification
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
