Overview
Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Medical Staff Services, the Credentialing Supervisor oversees centralized credentialing operations within the Central Verification Office of Riverside Health, ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of provider credentialing, privileging, and reappointment activities. This role provides direct supervision of credentialing specialists, enforces productivity and quality standards, and ensures alignment with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and established timelines. The Credentialing Supervisor is accountable for maintaining audit-ready files, driving workflow efficiency, and supporting operational excellence across all credentialing functions.
What you will do
- Supervise and support credentialing specialists; manage workload distribution and productivity. Ensure timely completion of initial, reappointment, and privileging files. This position will conduct quality reviews and audits of credentialing files and maintain accurate provider data in the credentialing system (Credential stream).
- Provides support with onboarding and training of new staff along with continued education and development. Manages performance of credentialing specialist. Completes annual evaluations in a timely manner.
- Serve as a backup in the processing of credentialing, privileging, and reappointment files as needed to support operational demands.
- Responsible for assuring the needs of the committee meetings, to include notices, dietary needs, minutes, agendas, packet preparation, and attendance documentation. Additional meeting responsibilities include iPAD preparation and updating for specific committees. Provide an overview of the results for initial applications to the appropriate physicians and committees for all RH facilities.
- Acts as a resource to and maintains a working relationship with the members of the Unified General Medical staff.
Qualifications
Education
- Associates Degree, Business or Healthcare Administration (Required) or
- Bachelors Degree, Business or Healthcare Administration (Preferred)
Experience
- 2 years Administrative or Credentialing Experience (Required)
- 1 year Lead or Supervisory Role (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) - National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) (Preferred)
