Purchasing Buyer
Job Description
Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Buyer is to coordinate, manage, and execute the proper procurement strategies. These strategies include sourcing, procuring, and expediting maintenance, repair, and inventory items, developing and implementing effective processes, and developing supplier relationships to drive financial success for the Division. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to proactive research of cost savings and value-added opportunities. Manage and execute complex contracts. Actively participate in overall Nucor buy initiatives. Participate in developing and executing appropriate bidding procedures as well as negotiating pricing and terms and conditions on purchased items. Participate in developing, documenting, and continuously improving appropriate internal control and quality system procedures. Participate in the growth and development of the Purchasing team and actively pursue personal growth and development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- The equivalent of two years of Purchasing or Business-related experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Purchasing experience
- Degree in Business or related field
- Experience in several of the following disciplines: contract management, internal controls, inventory management, negotiations, procurement, risk management, or warehouse experience.
